The seven-mile route was chosen by youngsters who attend the group’s drop-in sessions and were keen to take part in a coastal bike ride. The group, which is based at Harton Miners Welfare, in Low Lane, South Shields, were supported in the ride - which took place at the weekend - by Simonside Outdoor Adventure. Cruse Crew director Susan Clarkson said: “It was quite an emotional day for all of us. We all knew why we were there and each one of us were riding with our own special angels in our hearts.
