All early reports describe the new Luke Skywalker as "broken," as someone who's running despite his friends and family being in danger. But, if something went wrong at his Jedi academy, if his star student went to the dark side, is it possible Luke has been tempted by the dark side again, and, unable to defeat it, ran from it? The Last Jedi, despite the tan robes we see in the end of The Force Awakens, he certainly doesn't look the way the series typically depicts good characters. This is a franchise that has very little subtlety between good and bad. Good guys wear white and have green/blue lightsabers. Bad guys wear black and have red lightsabers. Yet, here's Luke Skywalker wearing dark, mostly grey clothing. Then there's this new image of Luke, which Hamill shared today, showing the character in what traditionally looks like Sith robes.
