Chuong Chhoeun, a driver and an assistant for Mr Molyvann for 24 years, said “he did not have any disease but he died because of old age”.
“We are very regretful and sad that we lost him because he was a very good person and someone we respected,” Mr Chhoeun said. “He always provided good ideas for me.
“He was a person the Cambodian people respected and loved so much.”
Mr Molyvann was born on November 23, 1926, in Kampot province. He was the first student to pass the Bacc II at Preah Sisowath High School in 1944 and went on to study architecture in France from 1947-1956.
