Mother kills baby for fear of custody loss

Proek district yesterday arrested a woman accused of killing her one-year-old daughter in order to prevent her ex-husband from taking custody of her.

Samrith Viseth, deputy Phnom Proek district police chief, identified the suspect as Ti Sokhy, 34, a farmer in Bour commune’s Phnom Prampei village.

According to police, the suspect’s husband left her for another woman when she was three months pregnant.
